The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's fellowship holders' meeting took place at Ruhr-Universität Bochum from April 9 to 11. A total of 114 researchers from 37 different countries came together for this network meeting. A special part of the program included visits to various research institutes at Ruhr-Universität, including the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy. Young researchers in physics, mathematics and computer science were guests of Prof. Dominik Bomans at the Astronomical Institute and Prof. Daniel Hägele at the Applied Solid State Physics Institute on Thursday. There were keynote speeches by the Bochum scientists and the Humboldtians. The aim of the event was to create opportunities for international networking and to familiarize the new Humboldt Fellows with research and life in Germany.
