On January 11, the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy invites you to the next edition of Saturday Morning Physics. Prof. Anna Böhmer will present her research on superconductors, which are fascinating due to their unique magnetic properties and lack of electrical resistance. These materials enable lossless current flow and are used in high-tech devices such as MRIs and particle accelerators. What role does quantum physics play in these special properties? Let's find out together!
Everyone who finds the small and big questions of our universe just as exciting as we do is cordially invited.
When? On 14.12.2024, 11 am.
Where? St. Paul's Church in the city center of Bochum, Grabenstraße 9
Admission is free. From 10:30, the student council will provide visitors with waffles and coffee.
Saturday Morning Physics takes place on four Saturdays in the winter semester 24/25. Information on further lectures can be found on the SMP website.
