Participants of the lecture "Plasma Diagnostics" from this and previous semesters visited the company Avantes in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands on 03.06.22. The Dutch company specialises in so-called handheld or USB spectrometers and corresponding accessories. The Dutch company specialises in so-called handheld or USB spectrometers and corresponding accessories. These spectrometers are used for species identification, but also for monitoring plasmas.
During the excursion, insights into production and new developments were given in addition to further application possibilities. In two small workshops, current plasma-relevant diagnostics could be applied live, Raman spectroscopy and laser emission spectroscopy (LIPS), which directly closed the circle to the lecture.
Students from the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, who are writing their final thesis within the framework of SFB 1316, took part in the trip. They were supported by the faculty.
