Referent ist Prof. Dr. Zhe Wang (TU Dortmund) zum Thema „More than one century of the 1D Ising model: Any new physics we can still learn?“.
Since the invention of the Lenz-Ising model in 1920, the one-dimensional (1D) spin models have been extensively investigated and become textbook examples for illustrating basic physical concepts, such as spin excitation, fractionalization, and phase transition. I will present our recent experimental findings in solid-state realizations of the 1D Heisenberg-Ising models. In particular, I will discuss on the experimental observation of featured 1D quantum spin excitations, including confined spinons, many-body Bethe strings, and E8 particles.
